  • Setting up and facilitating consultation and consensus building exercises
  • Workshops and presentations on aspects of sustainability, regeneration and project development
  • Advice, support and writing bids for community organisations looking for funding
  • Book keeping, payroll & contract management

For more details of some of the specific projects that we have worked on click here. The broad areas that we have successfully worked upon in the previous 1-2 years include:

Market & Coastal Towns Initiative (MCTi):
Westden Services have been involved in a variety of MCTi projects throughout the area. We have assisted in all stages of the programme - from successful first stage applications, leading the community consultation process and the subsequent creation of strategic action plans. The MCTi projects that have used our experience include:
Crediton, South Molton, Ilfracombe, Tamar Valley, Chard, Holsworthy & Hatherleigh

Local Authority Projects:
Projects worked on have included the Invest to Save programme, Housing Needs Surveys, Recycling Feasibility Studies and Rural Development Programmes.

Bid Work/Funding Applications:
We have extensive knowledge of the funding sources relevant to community, sustainability and regeneration projects and can help securing funding for community facilities and projects. We can also help with the creation of Business Plans.

Feasibility Studies:
We have worked on creating feasibility studies for community groups - specifically within the youth sector. In the previous two years we have worked on creating a feasibility study and business plan for the proposed Tavistock Youth Café. We are now conducting a similar exercise for the 'Okehampton Youth Space' project.

Book keeping/payroll/employment:
We can also provide support services to a number of associated organisations. This can include acting as distanced employers, providing an ongoing payroll service or book keeping. We are keen to work with small businesses and organisations that have a similar community role.

We employ a small team of associate consultants that have a wide range of experience.

Our current day rate for our work is £346. We are available to take on both large and smaller pieces of work and are happy to work on projects that have a long lifespan. Our philosophy is always to work with a community and its representative organisations, as facilitators of their own community generated projects. Therefore we are keen to leave these organisations with a firm sustainable base at the end of our involvement.
