ACTIVITY DAYS
Since October 2005 Westden has been providing fun children’s holiday activities in the Tavistock area and are developing holiday activity days for families and adults.
The activity days take place during the school holidays (except the Christmas holidays) and provide themed activities for children aged eight to eleven. Themes are very varied but all aim to encourage more sustainable living in rural communities.
Activities on offer include pond dipping, nature walks, willow weaving, cooking with local ingredients, circus skills, storytelling, mask making and many more.
The days, which are advertised through the local schools and local press, have proved very popular with parents and children and many children return each holiday to try their hand at new skills, to meet old friends and to sample the range of creative activities on offer.
There is a charge for the days which covers the cost of staffing and venue. There is also an additional cost for any cooking ingredients.
Packed lunches are required unless the activity involves cooking lunch.
All staff and instructors working with children on the activity days have been CRB checked.
We are grateful to Devon County Council for funding to provide support workers for children with special needs.
The Activity days are provided by Westden Services, the trading arm of the charity Westden. Company Number: 4932319.
